Allied Body Works 75th Anniversary Golf Classic: A Day of Celebration, Camaraderie, and Competition
On September 20th, Allied Body Works proudly hosted the Allied Body Works Golf Classic at Glen Acres Golf & Country Club in Seattle. This year’s tournament was extra special, marking our 75th anniversary in business since our founding in 1949. The event brought together family, friends, team members, customers, and industry supporters for a day of golf, prizes, and festivities, celebrating both our legacy and future.
With 72 golfers across 17 groups, the course was buzzing from the start. Attendees included end customers, commercial vehicle dealers, leasing companies, and Allied employees, creating an incredible mix of familiar and new faces. Notable guests included James Boswell from Texas, an Aussie Pet Mobile franchisee who uses our custom grooming vans, who traveled in to celebrate with us. We were also honored to have Mandar Dighe, VP of Sales & Marketing at Knapheide, join us from Quincy, Illinois, and Todd Goldmeyer, National Commercial Sales Manager at Adrian Steel, who traveled from Adrian, Michigan.

Sponsor Highlights and Showcased Equipment
Our long-time partners, Knapheide and Adrian Steel, were the major sponsors, bringing their own special contributions to the day. Several trucks displayed Allied’s custom work and industry innovations, including:
- A BrightDrop EV provided by Auburn Chevrolet
- A Mercedes Sprinter from MB of Lynnwood converted with our mobile grooming solution for Aussie Pet Mobile
- A Knapheide KMT1 Mechanics Truck on a Ford chassis, courtesy of Bowen Scarff Ford
- Allied’s Ford F-150 demo truck, outfitted with Adrian Steel's Modular Cap, ProLift Ladder Rack, and Extendobed slide
- A Ford chassis with a Knapheide flatbed, used as a tee-off platform for one of the hole contests
Golf and Contests Galore
Once on the course, participants enjoyed a scramble format with engaging contests at many holes:
- Hole 1 (Adrian Advantage Hole): Featuring our F-150 demo truck with Adrian Steel’s latest equipment, golfers drew “advantage” cards for a leg-up on their score.
- Hole 2 & 11 (Closest to the Pin): Competed for a Nexbelt and Pro V1 box.
- Hole 4 (Longest Drive): Featuring a tee-off from the flatbed of a Knapheide truck – a unique twist everyone enjoyed!
- Hole 7 (Straightest Drive): Participants vied for a Whiskey Wedge Glass and Pro V1 box.
- Hole 8 & 17 (Hole-in-One Challenge): An exciting $25,000 prize opportunity, though no one hit the jackpot this time.
- Hole 9 (Walker Blocker Poker Game): Golfers aimed for the cornhole board for a chance to draw a high card.
- Hole 12 (Flamingo Hole): Perhaps the most fun, with Rhett Hadman encouraging golfers to tee off on one foot wearing flamingo glasses for an extra poker card!
With drinks and lunch sliders, including pork, chicken, and brisket options, the course had a lively, fun atmosphere that kept spirits high all day.
Prizes and Family Gathering
After the final holes, everyone returned to the clubhouse for a dinner that welcomed more family and friends. The evening’s meal featured Latin American cuisine and a nostalgic slideshow of past tournaments and company milestones. Special guests included my grandmother, Beverly Minice, daughter of our founder Walt Bull and widow of our second owner, Dick Minice. Although my uncle Rich, who retired in 2023, was traveling, his children joined the celebration with their families.
The day was filled with joy, laughter, and memories, from golf challenges to reconnecting with friends and family. It was a truly fitting way to celebrate 75 years of Allied Body Works. Here’s to many more years of growth, innovation, and friendship!
